ITINERARY:

OPT 1 – PU LUONG ADVENTURE

2 days 1 night from Hanoi

The mysteries of Pu Luong Nature Reserve will be revealed in the journey to discover Pu Luong with Expats’ Way
Travel. You will have the opportunity to discover the beauty of nature, be closer to nature and indigenous people. After walking around the village and exploring the terraced fields around the valley, you will continue to explore deeper in the reserve. We will invite you to Thac Hieu, to walk around the rainforest or bathe under the fresh waterfall. You will spend the night in a traditional house, have dinner, drink wine and learn about culture of the indigenous people. On the last day of the tour, you’ll see giant water wheels before taking part in kayaking or bamboo rafting activities and taking a dip in the Cham River

DAY 1: HANOI – PU LUONG – DON VILLAGE – UOI VILLAGE – LAN NGOAI BROCADE VILLAGE – HIEU WATERFALL [ L, D ]
6:40 – 7:00| The company’s vehicle and tour guide pick you up at the hotel in the old quarter area to Pu Luong 170km (4 hours). On the way, our group stops at Hoa Binh for 15 minutes
11:30| Arrive in Pu Luong, then have lunch and check in to rest.
13:30| Depart for Don Village by motorbike or car to explore the simple and idyllic life of the Thai ethnic people. Enjoy the fresh air and see the beautiful mountains, forests, and terraced fields. Next, we trek down to Uoi Village along the small road to Lan Ngoai Brocade Village to learn about the traditional craft villages of the Thai ethnic group.
15:00| The vehicle picks us up at Lan Ngoai Village to visit Hieu Waterfall. After trekking 800m from the waterfall gate, going deep into the waterfall, you will be surprised to immerse yourself in nature, with three levels of waterfall here, you can bathe and enjoy the cool, fun and relaxing atmosphere.
17:00| The tour guide leads our group back to the Homestay to rest.
19:00| Have dinner, exchange culture and art, dance with Thai girls (if there is a large group at the homestay, we will organize an event) or relax.
DAY 2: DOAN STREET MARKET – CHIENG LAU VILLAGE – WATER WHEEL – BAMBOO RAFT OR KAYAKING IN CHAM STREAM [ B, L ]
Morning: wake up early to capture the moment when the clouds still surround the beautiful mountains.
7:30| Have breakfast and start moving to Doan street weekly market to buy specialties and souvenirs. (If on Thursday and Sunday weekly market days)
* Continue to Cham stream tourist area to see the giant water piles and participate in exciting kayaking or bamboo rafting on the river On the way back, our group can bathe in Cham stream
12:00| Have lunch and rest before the vehicle takes our group back to Hanoi
13:00| The vehicle picks up our group to Hanoi
18:30| End of memorable 2 days – 1nights Pu Luong tour. The vehicle takes you back to the hotel in the center of the old quarter

OPT 2 – PU LUONG OFFBEAT TREKKING

2 days 1 night from Hanoi

Usual attractions, but unusual ways to approach. We offer the best trek in Pu Luong Nature Reserve with plenty of off the beaten track moments. Listen to the sounds of nature and watch Pu Luong village life along the way. Your body is made to walk, to trek long distances and carry things. We keep your nature alive by offering this tour among rice fields and breathing fresh air of mountain.

DAY 1: HANOI – PU LUONG (L – D) Caving | Scenic Rice Fields

07:00 AM: Pick up at your hotel in the Old Quarter area. Expect a 4-hour drive without heavy traffic.

10:00 AM: Stop for a 15-minute rest break halfway through the journey. Enjoy picturesque village landscapes along the way.

12:00 PM: Arrive at Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Have lunch at a local restaurant. Check-in at your reserved room (standard check-in time 14:00) and relax at your own pace.

01:30 PM: Afternoon trek, Difficulty level 4/5.

Transfer to the Meeting Point and commence a 10km trek. Explore Kho Muong, an isolated village surrounded by a valley and the largest cave in Pu Luong, using off-road trails via streams and mountains.

Depart from the village and head to scenic Bang village to discover remote houses with beautiful terrace fields. Return to the hotel and relax by 05:00 PM.

Evening: Culinary exploration and leisure

Optional cooking class for those interested. Enjoy a delicious dinner at 7:00 PM, followed by free time to relax. This concludes your first day in Pu Luong.

DAY 2: PU LUONG – HANOI (B – L) Village Life | Water Wheels | Rafting

07:00 AM: Enjoy breakfast and prepare for the day’s activities. Be ready by 8:30 AM.

08:45 AM: Transfer to Ban Cong and start a 2.5km walk. Cross a suspension bridge to reach one of Pu Luong’s most scenic villages, where the largest stream flows through. Along the river, admire stunning landscapes, rice fields, and village life. Seek for the giant water wheels, a remarkable creation of Vietnam’s mountainous ethnic minorities. Difficulty level 2/5.

Arrive at Chieu Lau dam and embark on a bamboo rafting experience. Paddle the raft upstream with locals and have fun.

10:00 AM: The raft lands on the other side of the river. Embark on another 2km trek through rice fields and villages, completing a loop trail. Meet the transfer at the main road and return to your hotel for check-out by 11:30 AM. Enjoy lunch.

01:00 PM: Prepare for the bus journey back to Hanoi. Expect to arrive at your hotel in Hanoi by 6:30 PM, barring heavy traffic. The tour concludes at your Hanoi hotel.

DAY 2: PU LUONG – HANOI (B – L) Iconic Rice Terrace | Local Brocade

07:00 AM: Enjoy breakfast and prepare for the day’s activities. Be ready by 8:30 AM.

08:45 AM: Take a leisurely stroll down the valley to Don village, renowned as the epicenter of Pu Luong. This area boasts a gentle road that winds through vast terraced fields. With every step, you’ll witness the captivating transformation of the scenery. As you continue your walk, you’ll come across Uoi hamlet. When viewed from above, this hamlet nestles humbly at the base of the towering mountain. We assure you that this landscape will be a visual delight and may even fill up your phone’s memory card with its beauty.

Descend the hill to Lan Village, often referred to as the “Kingdom of Thai People in Pu Luong” home to around 100 Thai families. You can opt for a leisurely bicycle ride (optional) or take a relaxed stroll around. Here, you’ll encounter the soothing sights of cool streams, verdant farmlands, ducks joyfully paddling in ponds, and friendly locals going about their day. You’ll have the opportunity to observe their everyday activities, marked by simplicity and humility, with a special focus on their traditional brocade sewing. Take this time to engage with the locals and learn about their craft. After that, transfer back for check out your room by 11:30 and have lunch.
